Complainants and respondents may request a panel member be replaced in the case of a conflict of interest
-
The panel may reverse the Elections Officer decision, modify it, or in extreme cases submit a recommendation to the Council for the removal of the Elections Officer
-
The panel will review Executive or Councillor performance as required, and may impose reasonable corrections to complaints up to and including a recommendation to Council to impeach
-
In the case of Elections complaints, the panel must review and make a decision no more than two (2) school days after receiving the complaint
-
For all other complaints, the panel must review and make a decision no more than five (5) school days after receiving the complaint
Administration of the panel, including convening hearings, organizing volunteers for the panel, and distributing write-ups of the panel’s decision, will be handled by the VP Volunteer position, who will pass the duty to another Executive or Council member should they wish to run in an election, or should their performance come under judicial review
The Judicial Panel will be made up of no less than four (4) Arts students chosen randomly from a list of volunteers. If you are interested, please sign up for our volunteer registry under 'Join Us' tab
